Does anyone know the best place to find prices on old gear? I have a 1949 Epiphone lap steel that I need to find a price on for insurance purposes.

I find that studying Ebay is the most realistic way to find a real-world value for your used gear - if you are wanting to sell it. For insurance purposes, the traditional vintage outlets (Gruhn, Norm's, Bernunzio, etc) will value the guitar. And the books are good to get a hopeful vision of its worth. But ebay is the new arbiter...
