Just curious...do you guys buy from brick & mortar stores, online, Craigslist, ebay? Are you trading in/up for your new gear? If you're selling online, have you found prices to be dissapointing? Getting what you feel is the gear's true value $$$ ? Are you keeping your "vintage" gear? You know, the 20 year old synth that's been sitting in the closet all these years. Or the beater Tele that you just can't seem to part with. Any buying experiences that need to be told?

I don't like to work at music. I don't mind it when something grabs me and I spend six days looking for just the right sound or mix, causing my wife to think I may have been abducted by aliens. What I mean is that for me enjoyment is the first and only reason I play. If the fun goes away, it becomes work. Because of this I have so far managed to avoid both wealth and fame. (Though I must admit that, given the right conditions, I would jump on that tour bus tomorrow.)
I can't help feeling, thoug…

It's been a real trip after moving up here in VT from the more urban SW CT area. I've had alot of interaction with younger musicians, and they vary greatly in the ways they respond to me. Some have been very respectful, and seem genuinely interested in playing and discussing music. Others seem almost threatened and can't stay far enough away. I shower frequently and use deodorant and mouthwash (JK). Anyway, I get the feeling that among musicians the same age as me (59), I prefer to gig MUCH more…

I found this on del.icio.us. Half of me says it is pathetically lazy, the other half says, "Whoa, this is cool!" Read the story

I must be still in the 60's..I can't imagine anyone reading my blog and finding it useful or interesting, unless I had something useful or intersting to say. There are too many people too willing to talk about themselves, and not enough people who are listeners. Too many mouths flapping, too many know-it-alls, too many "Here's what I thinkers", so I choose to listen and share when I have something really important.
This may be my first and last blog.....
So, on the lighter s

A friend of mine hooked me up with a good quality boot leg of a concert from the latest tour with David Lee Roth. Eddie is back to his old self circa "Fair Warning" and "Women and Children First". I hope Eddie stays sober, because he's really kicking ass at present. You can see some of the concerts on you tube, just do a search on van halen and last rehearsal and you'll see the best show as far as sound and image quality.

Hello friends,
As some of you may know, I've been employed as a music therapist with Lifetime Care since 2001. I've written quite a few songs with patients and/or with their families over the past few years.
I'm in the beginning stages of producing a cd of hospice related material, the proceeds of which would get donated to Hospice of Roc

So, someone had posted a copy of the Personal Effects song "I See Heroes" on YouTube a while back. This was a song we released in the mid 1980's which made it into rotation on MTV. Duane Sherwood, our director of lighting and performance media and director of most of our videos, did the video for Heroes.
Recently, someone from Georgia had posted it to YouTube, which we thought was pretty cool. Anyway, MTV recently ordered YouTube to take the video down. Again, kinda cool being in the spotlight…

Hey old guys...a book about...another Old Guy! The long awaited Clapton Autobiography is on it's way to my mailbox.
Hopefully Eric paid a crack team of ghostwriters that are capable of complete sentences and paragraphs...(unlike the recent Pattie Boyd dribble).
Eric is a God. I can't wait to see just how much vivid recall Heroin laden brains are able to display. I forgot what I had for breakfast today...and I've never tried Heroin. Maybe I should. Let's see...Great Guitar Player, Layla for a w…
